Sonoma County achieves record-high net assessment roll of more than $120 billion
Sonoma County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor Deva Marie Proto announced today that the county's net assessment roll has reached an unprecedented high of $120,459,402,383. This marks a 5.22 percent increase compared to last year’s assessment roll, reflecting the value of all real and business property as of Jan. 1. The 2024-25 assessment roll has been officially delivered to the Sonoma County Auditor-Controller-Treasurer-Tax Collector. Read full story

Coalition of Bay Area Election Officials Recognized for Excellence in Election Administration with National Clearinghouse Award
Today, the Coalition of Bay Area Election Officials announced they were recognized for excellence in election administration with a national Clearinghouse Award for Distinguished Voter Education and Communications Initiatives. Also known as the “Clearies,” the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) presents the awards program annually to celebrate the hard work of election offices across the country. Deadline for voters to ‘cure’ ballot signature issues is March 27
Voters whose signatures were missing or mismatched on ballot envelopes for the March 2024 primary election have until 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 to submit completed signature “cure” forms to the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office, according to Deva Marie Proto, Sonoma County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor-Registrar of Voters. Early in-person voting to expand this weekend for March election
Early in-person voting for the March 5 Presidential Primary Election will expand this weekend, Deva Marie Proto, Sonoma County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor-Registrar of Voters, announced today. Twenty-four vote centers will open Saturday, joining seven that have been open since February 24, for a total of 31. Voters can vote at any vote center in the county; they are not assigned to a specific location. Read full story
Early in-person voting begins this weekend for March Presidential Primary Election
Early in-person voting for the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary Election opens this weekend, Deva Marie Proto, Sonoma County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor-Registrar of Voters, announced today. Seven vote centers will be open for 11 consecutive days (including weekends) from Saturday, Feb. 24, to Election Day, Tuesday, March 5. Hours of operation for the vote centers will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Election Day itself when the hours will be extended from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Read full story

The standard deadline to register to vote in the upcoming March 5, Presidential Primary Election, is February 20, Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Deva Marie Proto reminded residents. However, eligible voters who miss this deadline still have the option to “conditionally register and vote” in person through Election Day at the Registrar of Voters office or any vote center. County Voter Information Guides for the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary Election, will begin going out in the mail this weekend, Deva Marie Proto, Sonoma County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor-Registrar of Voters, announced today. Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office announces change to public hours
Beginning Jan. 3, 2024, the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office will have a change in regular office hours. Going forward, the office will be closed to the public on Wednesdays at 4 p.m. Public office hours will be Mondays, Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Read full story
