Driving Under the Influence Program

Driving

The Driving Under the Influence Program works with the Court to provide services to first time and multiple offenders, with an office located in Santa Rosa.

Currently, the DUI Program offers orientation, education, group, and individual counseling in person and telehealth services through the Zoom platform. If opting for live virtual services, you must have a device with audio and video capabilities.

Total program enrollment requires completing a 3-step process:

  1. Attend Orientation
  2. Complete an in-person intake appointment.
  3. Down Payment due at the in-person intake appointment

Intake appointments, schedule changes, re-enrollments, transfer-in, and return from a leave of absence are in person and by appointment only.

Step 1: Attend Orientation

To enroll in the Driving Under the Influence (DUI) program you must first attend an orientation meeting.

What You Must Email to Attend Orientation

To attend an online orientation, you must provide:

  1. Fill out the Participant Demographic Information Form and then email the completed form to clerical.info@sonoma-county.org. If using a mobile device, emailing a screen shot of the completed form is acceptable.
  2. Email the necessary court referral or Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV K-4 form-driving record) paperwork to clerical.info@sonoma-county.org

If your DUI court of record is outside of Sonoma County, you will be required to provide the K-4 form from DMV, or the court paperwork from the court of record.

You will not be able to attend orientation without this required paperwork.

If you have never been issued a state Driver's License you will be required to obtain an "X" number from the DMV. Please visit your local DMV for this information. You can download the request for the "X" number form below.

English Orientation:

  • Wednesday 12pm – 2pm
  • Thursday 4pm – 6pm

Spanish Orientation:

  • Wednesday 3:30pm – 5:30pm

Please note, you only need to attend orientation one time. If an in-person intake appointment is not completed within six months of attending orientation you will be required to provide updated documentation and repeat orientation.

Step 2: Complete an Intake Appointment

Program intakes are scheduled by calling the following week after you attend an orientation. If you attend a Wednesday or Thursday orientation please call on the following Monday or later to schedule your intake appointment.

Please note that you are not enrolled in the DUI program until you complete an in-person intake appointment. Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a restricted license while attending the DUI program?

Depending on the program you need to attend, you may qualify for a restricted license. The restricted license will allow you to drive to work and to your DUI program. First offenders and extended offenders often qualify to get a restricted license. Multiple offenders typically have their license suspended for at least one year before they may qualify for a restricted license. In addition, multiple offenders may qualify to drive their vehicles with an interlock device installed. Whenever dealing with driver's license questions, it is always best to call DMV Mandatory Actions directly, (916) 657-6525, to find out what is true for your situation.

Will my attendance in your program stay confidential?

We are mandated to adhere to strict confidentiality laws. Unless, you have signed a Release of Information form allowing us to contact anyone or any organization, we are prohibited from acknowledging your enrollment in our program. There are no exceptions without a signed Release of Information form.
