4th Prop 47 Advisory Committee Meeting
Community members are invited to attend the 4th Prop 47 Jail In-reach Local Advisory Committee on Wednesday, July 17th from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. The purpose of the jail in-reach program is to use intensive engagement strategies to establish relationships with individuals who have serious mental health and/or substance use disorders, are unhoused or precariously housed, and are repeatedly incarcerated.

Sonoma County’s higher-than-average suicide rates to be focus of September 7 ‘Connection is Prevention’ event
Sonoma County has a problem: Suicide rates are high here. On average, there are 73 deaths by suicide each year in Sonoma County, making it the ninth leading cause of death. The Sonoma County suicide rate of 14.3 per 100,000 residents is considerably higher than the California rate of 10.5.
Measure O annual report shows increase in funding for essential homelessness, mental health services
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today accepted the Measure O update and annual report for fiscal year 2022–23. Presented by the Citizen’s Oversight Committee for Measure O, a quarter-cent sales tax that was approved by voters in 2020 to fund mental health, substance abuse disorder and homelessness services, the annual report provides an update on the growing list of achievements attained during this second full year of the measure.
