Forensic Assertive Community Treatment Team
Clients are referred to this team by the court system.
This team provides community-based specialty mental health services to non-violent adult offenders with severe and persistent mental illness referred through the Mental Health Court.
The Mental Health Court is a collaboration between the Sheriff’s Office, Probation, the District Attorney, Public Defender, the Superior Court, and the Santa Rosa Police Department, and addresses the complex needs of mentally ill offenders through community-based sentencing and closely supervised probation. Services include:
- Assessments
- Individual/collateral/family/group therapy
- Rehabilitation services
- Medication support
- Crisis intervention services
- Scheduled and random urinalysis testing
- Money management
- Coordination with substance use treatment services
FACT contracts with Buckelew Programs for supportive housing services, which includes independent living skills training, case management, and program management. Current FACT clients and past graduates lead groups and participate in Client Council, which is a client-run leadership group that develops and implements programmatic changes.
Funded by the Mental Health Services Act
This program receives funding through the voter-approved Mental Health Services Act (Prop. 63). MHSA funding provides a broad continuum of prevention, early intervention and services, and the necessary infrastructure, technology and training elements to effectively support our local mental health services system.
This program is a Full Service Partnership. FSPs are multidisciplinary teams that provide intensive field-based specialty mental health services targeted at specific populations with a service commitment of doing “whatever it takes”.
