Add a Link to a Phone Number
Have you ever seen a phone number while browsing the internet on your mobile phone but you had to write it down to call? Well, we can link phone numbers so all you need to do is tap it.
All phone numbers should be linked to improve our user experience on mobile devices.
Standard 10-digit Phone Number
- Highlight the phone number in the text
- Choose the link button in the toolbar
- In the link field, type the following with no spaces or puncutation:
- tel:+1 (remove any http:// or https:// references from the beginning of the link)
- 10-digit phone number
- The link should look like this for a County phone #: tel:+17075651234
- Save your changes
10-digit Phone Number with Extension
- Highlight the phone number and extension in the text
- Choose the link button in the toolbar
- In the link field, type the following with no spaces or punctuation:
- tel:+1 (remove any http:// or https:// references from the beginning of the link)
- 10-digit phone number
- semi-colon followed by ext=numerical extension
- The link should look like this for a County phone # with extension 123: tel:+17075651234;ext=123
- Save your changes
10-digit Phone Number with Pauses, Passwords, Meeting IDs
The following can be used for conference calls, e.g. Zoom Webinars:
- Highlight the in the text you want to use for the phone# link
- Choose the link button in the toolbar
- In the link field, type the following with no spaces or punctuation:
- tel:+1 (remove any http:// or https:// references from the beginning of the link)
- 10-digit phone number
- comma followed by the meeting ID
- comma followed by the passcode
- The link should look like this for a Zoom meeting with a meeting ID and passcode: tel:+169949009128,91462250960,123456

3-digit Phone Numbers
The following can be used for 3-digit phone numbers such as 2-1-1 or 9-1-1:
- Highlight the 3-digit phone number
- Choose the link button in the toolbar
- In the link field, type the following with no spaces or punctuation:
- tel: (remove any http:// or https:// references from the beginning of the link)
- 3-digit phone number
- semi-colon followed by "phone-context=+1"
- The link should look like this for a Zoom meeting with a meeting ID and passcode: tel:211;phone-context=+1
