Assessed Value Exemptions
Through the Assessor's Office you can apply for several exemptions:
- The Homeowner's Property Tax Exemption
- Veteran's Exemption
- Church Exemption
- Religious Exemption
- Welfare Exemption

School Parcel Tax Exemptions
Another type of exemption is for school parcel tax. These exemptions only apply to direct charges not school bonds that are calculated based on the value of the property. These exemptions are granted by the taxing agency, which will need to be contacted directly for information on qualifying factors. Assistance Programs
The State of California administers programs that provide property tax assistance and postponement of property taxes to qualified homeowners and renters who are 62 or older, blind, or disabled. For information on the Property Tax Postponement Program, call the California State Controller's Office at (800) 952-5661.
