On this page you will find fillable PDF tax return forms for the fiscal year, preparation instructions and general information. Once you have completed the form, print, sign and deliver it to our office. Forms can be mailed to or dropped off at:

Tax Payments
Cannabis Tax Payments can be paid in person, by mail or online.
In Person:
Payments can be made in person at the Sonoma County Tax Collector's Office. Our office accepts cash and check payments for Cannabis Tax. If paying by cash, please bring exact change.
By Mail:
Payments by check can be mailed with tax returns to our office. Please allow plenty of time for the post office to deliver your payment. Depending on how the U.S. Postal Service routes your mail it can take more than 5 business days for them to deliver your payment to our office.
Online:
Payments can be made online using the link and account information emailed to operators each quarter. Please contact our Cannabis Tax Unit with any questions.
Cannabis Business Tax Application for Waiver of Penalties and Interest
Operators may request cancellation of late payment fees and interest assessed on a Cannabis Business Tax by completing and submitting the Application for Waiver of Penalties and Interest Form linked below. The signed and completed request form, and all supporting documentation are required for consideration of this cancellation request as well as payment in full for the tax.

Cannabis Business Tax Administrative Review
Operators may apply in writing to the Treasurer-Tax collector for an administrative review of the tax assessment by completing and submitting the Cannabis Business Tax Administrative Review Request Form. The signed and completed request form, along with all applicable supporting documentation, may be submitted by e-mail to Cannabistax@sonoma-county.org , in person at 585 Fiscal Drive, Santa Rosa, CA 95403, or by mail to the same address.
