High wildfire risk as peak season gets underway
Eight of the 10 largest wildfires in the CalFire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit started in the months of August, September and October. We remain in peak fire season so please stay safe and be wildfire wise:
- Mow before 10 a.m. with a hose, bucket or fire extinguisher nearby. Avoid windy days.
- Avoid spark-creating power tools near dry vegetation.
- Fully extinguish campfires.
- Keep grills away from dry vegetation.
- Maintain vehicles to prevent sparks.
- Follow local burn regulations.
- Clear dry leaves and debris.
Remember, one less spark equals one less wildfire. Learn more: https://www.fire.ca.gov/what-we-do/wildfire-prevention.
