Sonoma County Airport to host public workshops
The Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport announced two workshops designed to shine a spotlight on the Approach Feasibility Study, which is conducted to understand the current airspace and procedures serving STS, and the practicality of developing new procedures or modifying existing ones. The study aims to ensure that any proposed new procedures meet safety, regulatory, operational and technical requirements.
The workshops are open to the public to participate in-person or via Zoom:
- Windsor: Wednesday, Nov. 1 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Mary Agatha Furth Center Ballroom, 8400 Old Redwood Highway in Windsor.
- Sebastopol: Thursday, Nov. 2 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Center for the Arts, Brent Auditorium, 282 S. High St. in Sebastopol.
Both sessions will include the same information and will be available to view online.
This is an excellent opportunity to engage with your local airport and have a voice in the approach feasibility study. Your input matters.

Climate Action & Resiliency Town Hall scheduled November 1
The Sonoma County Climate Action and Resiliency Division is hosting a virtual community town hall meeting on Nov. 1, hosted by Supervisor Lynda Hopkins and Supervisor Susan Gorin. The open discussion is expected to feature efforts and initiatives by a variety of community organizations and county services, as well as seek input on the development of the County's Climate Master Action Plan.
The Sonoma County Strategic Plan identifies Climate Action and Resiliency as one of its five main pillars and will guide the County’s implementation of programs and activities designed to achieve its climate goals. These goals and objectives cover a broad range of topics, including energy, wildfire and grid resilience, greenhouse gas reductions, fleet and building electrification, carbon sequestration, and natural and working land adaptation.
