Fire & Earthquake Safety Expo happens Saturday, May 6

April is California Earthquake Preparedness Month, and Healdsburg is hosting the Fire and Earthquake Safety Expo this Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will be at the Healdsburg Community Center at 1557 Healdsburg Avenue.

Highlights include:

• Evacuation zones and routes
• Free giveaways, including lunch while supplies last
• Fun and educational activities for all ages
• Preparedness workshops
• And much more!

Additional tips to help prepare you and your family:

• Practice Drop, Cover, Hold On!
• Secure bookcases, televisions and objects that hang on walls.
• Store heavy and breakable objects on low shelves.
• Create a family emergency communications plan that has an out-of-county contact.
• Plan where to meet if you get separated. Choose a location close to home and one at a central location that is manageable based on where your family works, goes to school and plays.
• Have a home emergency kit with everything you need for at least seven days.

Sonoma County Transportation Authority seeks community input

Sonoma County Transportation Authority is conducting a study to identify ways transit can work better for you.

Share your thoughts in a quick survey at www.surveymonkey.com/r/SCTA

Survey respondents who share their contact information will receive a free 7-day transit SuperPass, valid for unlimited travel on Sonoma County Transit, Santa Rosa CityBus, and Petaluma Transit.

The survey is open until May 22.
