Zero Waste Sonoma Compost Giveaway events May 11
Zero Waste Sonoma is hosting two Compost Giveaway events on Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to noon:
- Community Center Youth Annex at 425 Morris St., Sebastopol
- Recology Offices at 3565 Standish Ave., Santa Rosa
The amount of compost is limited, so it's first come, first served. Please bring a shovel to scoop and buckets to haul.

Native Arts Festival on Windsor Town Green May 11
The Native American Arts Festival will take place on Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Windsor Town Green.
Enjoy traditional Native dancing and the work of Native artists, hear traditional storytelling, eat some great food and so much more. All are welcome to this drug- and alcohol-free event.

Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony happens May 15
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office will remember and honor deputies who lost their lives in the line of duty at the annual Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony on Wednesday, May 15, 11:30 a.m., 2796 Ventura Ave., Santa Rosa.
The community is invited to pay tribute to the bravery and dedication of these fallen peace officers.
Community members who are unable to attend in person can watch a live stream of the ceremony on the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/sonomasheriff.
