Safety reminder: Heavy rain forecast this weekend
The National Weather Service is predicting light to moderate and occasionally heavy rain on Saturday during the day. The North Bay and coastal ranges are expected to see 1-3” of precipitation.
A second system is expected to bring more wind and rain beginning on Sunday. As new storms bring more rain, please be prepared for possible localized flooding, winds and potential power outages.
Additional preparation and safety tips:
- Clean out rain gutters and nearby storm drains.
- As rain accumulates, remember to slow down and prepare for longer commute times.
- Never drive through flooded roadways — TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN!
- Ensure your headlights are turned on for visibility.

County offices closed February 19 in observance of Presidents’ Day
Most county offices will be closed Monday, February 19 to honor the birthdays of President Abraham Lincoln and President George Washington.
As we observe this day and the second week of Black History Month, we reflect on and honor the remarkable lives of Presidents Lincoln and Washington. Let us remember their wisdom, faith and unwavering dedication to the pursuit of a more perfect union.

SoCo Chat Podcast announces new Roundtable Series
SoCo Chat, where county leaders, staff and community members discuss all things concerning the County of Sonoma, recently launched SoCo Chat Roundtable, a new series where members of the County communications team discuss the latest news out of the county.
The inaugural conversation addresses Sonoma County news including storm impacts, county staff vacancies and Avelo’s expansion at the Sonoma County airport.
Other new episodes of the podcast feature interviews with Johannes Hoevertsz, director of the county’s Public Infrastructure Department, on responding to winter storms; and Tennis Wick, director of Permit Sonoma, on the upcoming revision of the county’s general plan.

Sonoma County Restaurant Week returns February 19-25
Sonoma County Restaurant Week returns February 19–25 with an opportunity to try new places and new food while supporting small businesses that help sustain our local economy.
No tickets or passes are required, and participants can visit as many restaurants as they want. Prices range from $10 - $25 for lunch and $25 - $55 for dinner, with a $5 “Sweet Perk” option.
