International Overdose Awareness Day event August 31
International Overdose Awareness Day offers a chance to honor those who have been lost, share the stories of grieving families and friends, and find strength in community. The event will include an interactive art installation, access to vital resources and a candlelight vigil for reflection and healing.
Come together to break the silence and stigma surrounding overdose and substance use. These issues have touched so many lives, and it’s time to face them with compassion and understanding.
When: Saturday, Aug. 31, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Where: 1430 Neotomas Ave., Santa Rosa

Free e-waste recycling September 13 – 15
Zero Waste Sonoma and Conservation Corps North Bay are hosting free E-waste Recycling Events on Friday, Sept. 13 through Sunday, Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rohnert Park Community Center, 5401 Snyder Lane in Rohnert Park. On Saturday, Sept. 14, the event includes free mattress recycling. No appointment necessary.
ACCEPTED ITEMS: Working and non-working TVs, office equipment, cell phones, tablets, microwaves, printers, computers, laptops, stereos, game consoles, cords and more.
NOT ACCEPTED: Appliances, batteries and fluorescent lamps.
MATTRESSES: (Saturday only) Items ACCCEPTED include clean and dry mattresses of any size, box springs and futons. Limit of three units per vehicle, per day. Soiled or wet mattresses, futon frames or bedding are not accepted.
