Sonoma County launches ‘SoCo Connect’ public reporting and tracking system for non-emergency service requests
SANTA ROSA, CA | June 29, 2022
The County of Sonoma today announced the launch of SoCo Connect (formerly SoCo Report It), a constituent relationship management system that will offer an improved online service request portal and app for reporting and tracking services in English and Spanish in unincorporated areas of Sonoma County.
The new system aligns with the Organizational Excellence pillar of Sonoma County’s Five-Year Strategic Plan and comes in response to the need for an integrated service request and tracking system. Phase one of the new system will be piloted to address standard work requests by the Department of Transportation and Public Works and Permit Sonoma, with plans to expand the interactive reporting tool to track information requests to improve county response and include services provided by other county departments.
“SoCo Connect is an essential, modern service for Sonoma County that will help facilitate a rapid response to requests from our community members,” said James Gore, Chair of the Board of Supervisors. “It promotes civic engagement, performance measurement, and transparency in local government. But technology solutions only work if we use them, so we’re encouraging all community members to get involved and download the app as a convenient tool to share and track your concerns and requests.”
The upgraded system enables county residents, officials and staff to report, submit photos and monitor progress on information requests as well as standard work requests, including:
- Guardrail damage
- Hazardous trees
- Litter/roadside debris
- Plugged culverts
- Pothole identification
- Down road signs
- Sign visibility problems
- Landslides
- Streetlight problems
- Traffic signal concerns
- Vegetation overgrowth
- Abandoned vehicles
- County code compliance issues
The SoCo Connect app is available in the Apple and Google Play stores. Community members who currently use the SoCo Report It app on an Apple smartphone will receive an automatic update and do not need to take additional steps. Residents who currently use the SoCo Report It app on an Android smartphone will need to download the new SoCo Connect app.
Service and information requests will continue to be available through the county’s website here:
