Defendants Sentenced to Life in Prison for the Abduction and Brutal Sexual Assault of Jane Doe
Defendants Christian May Quintero and Fredi Alberto Lopez-Flores, 28 and 37, were sentenced today to life in prison for the abduction and violent sexual attack of Jane Doe. District Attorney Ravitch stated, “Two violent predators have been brought to justice today. Given the defendants’ vicious behavior, the maximum sentences are entirely appropriate in this case.” Read full story

Sonoma County Housing Authority opens project-based voucher waitlists for units in Healdsburg and Petaluma
The Sonoma County Housing Authority will accept housing voucher applications May 23 through July 1 for Project-Based Voucher waitlists. Applicants will be required to provide information regarding income and any preferences for which they may qualify. Read full story

Board approves $4.1 million in grant funding to support homeless action plan projects
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today approved the allocation of nearly $4.1 million in grant funding to support affordable housing projects, emergency shelters for the homeless, rental assistance programs and other initiatives to address the region’s housing and homelessness crises. Board of Supervisors approves list of SB1 infrastructure projects for Fiscal Year 2022-23
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today approved a list of local streets and road projects to be completed during the 2023-24 construction season using nearly $12.6 million in anticipated revenue from SB1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act. The selection process for road projects is based on a two-year budget cycle and takes multiple criteria into consideration, including pavement condition, type and amount of usage, design characteristics, and geographic location within the county. Sonoma Water receives 2022 excellence in innovation award
The Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) presented the first annual Excellence in Innovation Award to Sonoma Water for its Forecast-Informed Reservoir Operations (FIRO) pilot project.Forecast Informed Reservoir Operations (FIRO) is a flexible water management approach that uses data from watershed monitoring and improved weather forecasting to help water managers selectively retain or release water from reservoirs for increased resilience to droughts and floods. Santa Rosa Man Sentenced to Maximum Term in Prison for Assaulting Elderly Victim in Her Home
Defendant Tai Kincaid, 44 years old of Santa Rosa, was sentenced on Thursday May 5th by the Honorable Christopher Honigsberg to serve eight years and eight months in state prison after pleading “no contest” in March to charges of residential burglary of an elderly victim, assaulting an elderly victim with a deadly weapon, and evading law enforcement.
