Sonoma County launches pilot program to provide guaranteed income to 305 families
The County of Sonoma is teaming up with Santa Rosa, Petaluma and Healdsburg and a coalition of community groups to launch a two-year pilot program that will provide a guaranteed minimum income of $500 a month to 305 low-income families while studying the program’s impacts on reducing poverty and promoting economic stability and mobility. COVID-19 booster shots temporarily on hold until new booster shots arrive in Sonoma County
The administration of COVID-19 booster shots is temporarily on hold in Sonoma County pending delivery of new updated boosters formulated to target the omicron variant. The California Department of Public Health on Wednesday advised providers to discontinue administering the original boosters after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized the new booster formula for people 12 and older and removed the authorization for the original vaccine for booster doses for the same age range. Sonoma Water Responds to Sonoma Valley Aqueduct Leak
On Wednesday, August 31, the Sonoma County Water Agency (Sonoma Water) will be using heavy equipment to investigate the conditions of a 16” pipeline, which is leaking, near the Verano Avenue bridge. The pipeline, known as the Sonoma Valley Aqueduct, serves the City of Sonoma and the Valley of the Moon Water District (VOMWD). Read full story
