Joe Rodota Trail Portion Will Be Temporarily Closed to Reestablish Safe and Clean Environment
Beginning Wednesday, May 30, 2018, the County ofSonoma in collaboration with the City of Santa Rosa will temporarily close thesection of the Joe Rodota Trail (JRT) from Roseland Avenue to Dutton Avenue toremove unlawful encampments and reestablish a safe and clean environment forall trail visitors. Andy's Unity Park Opens June 2, 2018
The public is invited to celebrate the opening and dedication of Andy’s Unity Park at 3399 Moorland Avenue in southwest Santa Rosa from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 2. The afternoon will include a rich program of community speakers, music, food, children’s activities, dancers, drummers, art projects, yoga, skateboard demonstrations, and booths hosted by local organizations. Russian River Inflatable Rubber Dam Going Up Anglers, Boaters Must Portage Around Dam
The Sonoma County Water Agency (Water Agency) beganinflating its rubber dam on the Russian River near Forestville on Monday, May21, 2018. The rubber dam is a critical component of the Russian River water supplysystem that provides naturally filtered drinking water to more than 600,000residents in portions of Sonoma and Marin counties. Sonoma County Regional Parks is preparing a master plan to develop a vision for Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach and invites the public to share feedback on potential improvements for the Russian River park. A workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. June 7 at the park, 13839 Old Redwood Highway, is the first of several opportunities the public will have to help guide the park’s redevelopment and natural resource management. Dropbox Settles Consumer Protection Prosecution for Automatic Renewal Law Violations
DistrictAttorney Jill Ravitch announced today that her office, along with the DistrictAttorneys of Alameda, San Diego and San Francisco Counties, have settled aconsumer protection action against Dropbox, Inc., a company that providesfile-sharing and other services over the internet. Defendant Convicted of Multiple Counts of Elder Theft
DefendantTheodore Hudson, 53 years old of Cloverdale, was found guilty by a jury Fridayafternoon after an almost two month long trial of 9 felony counts of theft froman elder. The jury also found true sentencing enhancements that alleged eachtheft offense resulted in over $500 thousand in loss. Read full story
