County of Sonoma, City ofSanta Rosa Part of $415 Million Settlement to Resolve North Bay LocalGovernments 2017 Fire Claims
Today, the City of Santa Rosa and the County of Sonoma, together with seven other counties and cities, announced that they and PG&E have accepted a mediator’s proposal of $415 million to resolve the collective cities’ and counties’ North Bay Fires claims. The mediator’s proposal is exclusive of and does not affect the claims of any residents, individuals, or businesses. Read full story

Defendant Sentenced for Vehicular Homicide
Defendant Teri Hoyle, 43 years old of Santa Rosa, was sentenced Friday by the Honorable Judge Nancy Shaffer for the misdemeanor vehicular homicide of Alfred Lemay after having been found guilty by a jury in May of this year. Read full story
Sonoma County Announces Open Burning Suspension
The California Department ofForestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) has announced the burn ban suspension,beginning 12:01 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2019, and bans all outdoor burning exceptfor campfires within organized campgrounds or on private property withlandowner permission. The suspension of burn permits is implemented in responseto the extremely high fire hazard conditions. Read full story

Prescribed fire planned for Sonoma Valley Regional Park on June 17, 2019
TheCalifornia Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE),Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit, is planning a prescribed burn for Sonoma Valley Regional Park along Highway 12 in Glen Ellen on Monday, June 17,2019. Fire crews will burn approximately 34 acres between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30p.m. Smoke will be visible in the air and fire crews and flames will be visiblealong the highway frontage while the burn is managed.
