Road Update - March 7, 2016

Numerous down trees, landslides, and flooding keptour crews busy due to the weekend’s storms. Valley Ford Road at Highway 1 andGreen Valley Road are the only roads closed due to flooding this morning. Morerains later this week will have road crews clearing slides and trees,unclogging culverts, draining ditches, and filling potholes, as they respond tocalls received. Read full story

Thisweek’s work includes shoulder erosion repair, installing rock walls in OldSkaggs Springs Road, fixing sidewalks in Sonoma, paving in Green Valley Road, ditching inBodega Bay, culvert and storm drain cleaning with Vactor trucks, and roadsidevegetation removal. Lakeville Road’s tree work will be completed this week anddelays might still occur during the day, so alternate routes are advised. Read full story

As rain is forecast for tomorrow Wednesday, crewswill fill potholes, clean culverts and storm drains, run roadside mowers toopen up sight distance, and doing concrete headwall, rock shoulder, and sliderepairs. Guard rail repair along the shoulder of Stony Point Road will notaffect traffic. Cal Fire crews will keep helping with roadside vegetationclearing on Roblar and Woolsey Roads in Cotati and Healdsburg today and tomorrow. Read full story

Public Invited to Help Plan Future of Maxwell Farms Regional Park

Regional Parks is updating the master plan for Maxwell Farms Regional Park to guide future improvements. As part of the process, planners are hosting a Feb. 17 public workshop as a follow-up to the initial planning session held last year. The workshop is an opportunity for Sonoma Valley residents to review and discuss preliminary concepts and help shape the renovation of this popular park. Read full story
