CAL FIRE to Release 2025 Fire Hazard Severity Maps
CAL FIRE has notified local government fire and planning departments about the potential release of the 2025 Local Responsibility Area (LRA) Fire Hazard Severity Maps. While the exact release date is yet to be determined, CAL FIRE issued written notice to agencies in December 2024. Read full story

Be aware that there are currently emails, calls, or text messages circulating that purport to be offering assistance with forgiveness of your student loan. The email indicates that it is time sensitive for you to respond to be eligible for loan forgiveness. I personally received one and my loans were paid off many years ago. In light of the recent controversies around student loan forgiveness, this gives scammers prime opportunity to pray on this uncertainty and reach consumers seeking such programs. Read full story

A recent scam purporting to come from Costco offers consumers a free ice cream maker for completing a survey. This is a phising scam attempting to obtain your financial information or gain access to your computer. Read full story
