Road Maintenance Update
Week of February 2 through 6, 2015
Published: February 02, 2015
Road crews this week will continue filling potholes and cleaning up storm damage from Decembers rains. Attached are some photos of some of our on-going efforts in getting storm damage repaired – Walling Road was a washed out culvert replacement, and the Junior retaining wall along Pine Flat Road was completed this past Friday.
Aside from pothole repairs, the Cotati crew will also be cleaning culverts in the south and west county areas this week. Road crews from Healdsburg and Sonoma will be assisting Cal Fire crews on Tuesday and Wednesday – Healdsburg and CDF will be clearing roadside brush along West Dry Creek Road, and Sonoma will assist CDF removing brush and clearing a drainage ditch above a road cut on Arnold Dr near Madrone Road. One-lane traffic controls can be expected at both locations.
The Culvert Crew will be finishing up work today on Doran Beach Road. Tuesday they will be potholing for utilities on Westside Road near Sweetwater Springs Road – expect one lane traffic controls with minor delays at both locations. This Wednesday through Friday the crew will move to Cloverdale – Geysers Road and begin clearing slides and opening culverts. There are multiple slides from December’s storms along the route that have closed off the drainage at various locations.
As mentioned above, the Bridge crew completed construction of a retaining wall along Pine Flat Road last week. This week they will be doing guardrail repairs along Bodega Highway, in the curves between Sexton Road and Tilton Road. Expect traffic controls with minor delays.
Lastly, with excellent weather expected until mid-week, the Traffic crew plans to center line and fog line strip along Healdsburg Geysers Road today and Tuesday. Rain is in the forecast for later this week, so any additional striping will be weather dependent.
