Roads Maintenance Update 12-14-15

A strong winter storm yesterday morning kept road crews busy dealing with down trees – minor road closures yesterday included Bloomfield Road, Cherry Ridge Road, Crane Canyon Road and McBrown Road The tree on McBrown Road involved utility lines. In west county trees were down on Bohemian Avenue and Redwood Drive west of Guerneville. Aside from McBrown Road, all other roads were only closed a short time.
Two notable projects this week will be:
- Green Valley Road west of
Sullivan Road at Green Valley Creek, road stabilization and repair project:
- Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, weather permitting, and conclude with paving on Thursday. One lane traffic controls will be in place 8 am to 2:30 pm daily.
- Bodega Highway culvert slip-line
project:
- It begins on Tuesday near Wagnon Road Pre-notification message boards were set out on Friday warning commuters of potential delays during work hours. Our Culvert Crew will be working with a local contractor, MSI, on this project. Minor traffic delays can be expected.
Other work includes:
- The Bridge Crew will be replacing a damaged guard rail on Guerneville Road west of Fulton Road today and Tuesday.
- Cotati crews will be cleaning a roadside ditch on Mill Station Road today north of Occidental Road where flooding has already occurred, and scraping sediment off the bike lane on Occidental Road east of Highway 116.
- Culvert cleaning will continue in the Cotati and west county areas using a Vactor truck and operator from a local vendor.
- A storm drain replacement project on Graton Road at Railroad Avenue will begin today through Friday – most of this work will be along the road shoulder with limited effect on traffic.
- Mowers will be working the west county areas of Estero Lane, Bodega Highway, Salmon Creek Road and Tannery Creek Road
- Other crews will be doing vegetation, drainage and pothole repair work around their various areas.
