Road Maintenance Update
Published: June 06, 2016
Over the weekend, road crews responded to two down tree limbs in the Warm Springs Road/Bennett Valley area, and on Saturday, to two road closures. Sonoma crews were called when a power pole and electric wires fell across Craig Avenue at Arnold Drive, and Cotati crews tended to a down phone line that closed I Street south of Petaluma.
This week, the Bridge crew will continue setting bridge decks at the Odd Fellows summer crossing at Korbel. Work on the bridge decks has been delayed this summer due to a new OSHA requirement, which mandates the retrofitting of each deck prior to installation. Additionally, the crew will be finalizing hand rail work at the recently completed bridge viaduct along Summerhome Park Road.
The Culvert crew will be finishing work along Burnside Road early this week, then moving to Barnett Valley Road to begin the first of several culvert replacements along that route. Be aware of minor delays and one lane traffic controls during working hours.
Road maintenance crews will continue vegetation mowing and chip seal prep work this week. The Healdsburg crew will again be doing pavement repairs along Chalk Hill Road. And in the Sonoma area, crews will begin crack sealing tomorrow through Thursday along E. Napa St and Warm Springs Road. Minor delays can be expected at all of these locations throughout the week.
Cotati and Guerneville crews will be concentrating on roadside mowing this week. Cotati will have mowers on Mill Station Road and Ferguson Road in West County, and also in the Petaluma area. Guerneville will be mowing along Graton Road and roads off this drag.
