Notice of Measure(s) to Be Voted On (Timber Cove Fire Protection District)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election will be held in the Timber Cove Fire Protection District on November 3, 2020, and that the following measure(s) will be submitted to the voters:

To continue to protect lives and property, shall the Timber Cove Fire Protection District levy an annual parcel tax of $185 per parcel for 15 years, raising approximately $92,500 per year, to fund code-mandated higher-cost upgrades for firefighter, rescue and EMT training and date-stamped equipment in order to maintain current level of emergency medical, wildfire, rescue and hazardous conditions services, with all money staying local for the benefit of our community?

NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that any written arguments for or against the measure(s) to be submitted to the voters must be filed with the Office of the Registrar of Voters, 435 Fiscal Dr, Santa Rosa, CA 95403, no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 17, 2020.  Arguments must be accompanied by a Statement of Accuracy, available from the Registrar of Voters, signed and dated by the author(s).  Arguments shall not exceed 300 words.

NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that if an argument in favor of and an argument against the measure(s) are submitted, copies will be mailed to the respective authors in order that they may submit a rebuttal argument.  Rebuttal arguments must also be accompanied by a Statement of Accuracy, signed and dated by the author(s).  The deadline for filing a rebuttal argument is 5:00 p.m. on August 27, 2020.  Rebuttal arguments shall not exceed 250 words.

Note that, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, regular in-person office hours have been temporarily reduced from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.  Anybody wishing to file an argument or rebuttal from 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. will still be permitted to do so but will need to call (707) 565-6800 to be let into the office.

Voting locations will be open on November 3, 2020, Election Day, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, voting locations will also be open for limited times on the three days prior to Election Day.  Specific hours for those days will be announced closer to Election Day.
