Lynne Stark-Slater

Chief Deputy

Lynne Stark-Slater has served as a Chief Deputy with the office since 2017.  She supervises attorneys and allied professionals who support the office’s holistic defense practice.  Prior to becoming a Chief, she worked in both the adult and juvenile trial divisions, as well as numerous treatment courts, where she developed a particular affinity for mental health law and advocating for alternatives to prosecution.  She is also a Professor of Criminal Procedure at Empire College School of Law and serves on the Board of Sonoma County Women in Law.  She is proud of her Sonoma County roots and the caring nature of the community she serves.
