Notice of Intent to Award: RFP for Point in Time (PIT) Homeless County and Survey
The evaluation panel carefully reviewed and analyzed the proposals received in response to the above referenced solicitation. Based upon that review and analysis, we are recommending to the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors that the contract be awarded to Applied Survey Research (ASR). Read full story
2024 Notice of Funding Availability: HUD CoCBuilds Competition
The Sonoma County Homeless Coalition is pleased to release the local NOFA (Notice of Funds Available) for the HUD CoC Builds NOFO. One (1) project can be selected on behalf of the Continuum of Care and submitted to HUD for consideration of new permanent supportive housing construction (one-time funding) with renewable operating funding. Local proposals are due to the Lead Agency, Sonoma County Department of Health Services on October 21, 2024 and the Coalition Board will make the final decision on a selected application at a special meeting in November. On July 31, 2024, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued the FY 2024 - 2025 Continuum of Care (CoC) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for Continuum of Care Funds. Notice is hereby given for the FY 2024 & 2025 Continuum of Care Funds Sonoma County Request for Proposals (RFP), as a part of the FY 2024 Continuum of Care Competition. You are invited to participate in an online public forum on homelessness on Thursday, August 29th from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The forum will begin with a brief overview about shelter beds, permanent shelter housing beds and utilization, followed by an “open forum” style Q&A session. St. Vincent de Paul selected to run two Sonoma County homeless shelters
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today authorized St. Vincent de Paul to provide interim shelter support services and site management at County shelter sites Mickey Zane Place and Eliza’s Village. The contract will be effective Aug. 1 and will last for three years with an option to extend. Additionally, the Board authorized an amendment with St. Vincent to cover current services at Los Guilicos Village through Aug. 31, 2024 or until all Los Guilicos Village guests and operations are transitioned to Eliza’s Village. The budget for the two actions together amounts to just over $5 million. Read full story

Preliminary 2024 Point-in-Time homeless count numbers rise as COVID-era programs end
After registering a decrease of 22 percent of people experiencing homelessness in Sonoma County in 2023, preliminary results of the Sonoma County Point-in-Time count for 2024 recorded an overall 11 percent increase. The annual one-day snapshot, conducted on January 26 from 5 to 10 a.m. across Sonoma County, located a total of 2,522 people experiencing homelessness, up from 2,266 in 2023 Read full story
FY 2024 CoC Renewal Evaluations: Rating & Ranking Process for the Continuum of Care Competition (Materials due May 01, 2024)
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires that local CoC’s prioritize all renewal and new projects submitted in our consolidated application for the CoC Program. As in previous years, CoC staff will work on the evaluation of existing projects, also called “renewal” projects, prior to the release of HUD’s Continuum of Care Program Notice of Funding Opportunity.
