Charles M. Schulz – Sonoma County Airport report to Board of Supervisors shows continued growth in passengers, revenue

Passenger traffic at Charles M. Schulz – Sonoma County Airport was up 4 percent from 2022 to 2023 and is up 15 percent so far this year, according to data shared with the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday. Overall, there were 82,710 commercial and general flights in and out of the airport in 2023 and 641,178 total airline passengers. Read full story

Sonoma Valley Veterans Building to get advanced heating, ventilation and air conditioning system

Board of Supervisors approves construction of Arnold Drive bike lanes in Sonoma Valley

The Board of Supervisors today approved a project to construct on-road bicycle lanes along approximately two miles of Arnold Drive between Country Club Drive and Madrone Road in Sonoma Valley. The project, which is expected to get underway in 2025, will improve safety and mobility for pedestrians and bicyclists. The plan also aligns with County goals for safe bicycle ridership and infrastructure, zero-emission transportation options, and the Sonoma County Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. Read full story

Board of Supervisors approves construction of permanent Asti bridge over Russian River

The Board of Supervisors today approved the construction of a permanent two-lane bridge across the Russian River on Washington School Road near the community of Asti in north Sonoma County. The new bridge is intended to enhance public safety and connectivity and eliminate the financial cost and environmental impact of installing and removing a temporary bridge each year. Seasonal Russian River bridge closed after dam failure

The Sonoma County Public Infrastructure Department has closed the summer crossing of the Russian River at Vacation Beach in Guerneville after a section of a seasonal dam failed, causing abnormally high river flows and damaging a County road. Board of Supervisors approves project scope and next steps for proposed Sonoma County Government Center

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a project scope and next steps for construction of a 200,000-square-foot government center to be located on the current County campus site in Santa Rosa. The action steps, unanimously approved by the Board, call for a one-tower $308 million government center, which would house between 800 and 1,000 employees, as well as redevelopment space to include up to 1,000 housing units. Charles M. Schulz - Sonoma County Airport set to perform storm culvert and runway upgrades on June 24

The Charles M. Schulz - Sonoma County Airport will refurbish a section of runway pavement and replace a deteriorating culvert on Monday, June 24. The work will be completed over 20 hours including nighttime work and is expected to cost $667,115. The permanent repair project is being coordinated with the Federal Aviation Administration, which has oversight of safety and operations at the regional airfield, to mitigate any possible impacts to the traveling public.
