Twenty-five Sonoma County residents are becoming certified LISTOS
Trainers in Sonoma County this week. LISTOS is a grassroots preparedness
program tailored for the Spanish speaking community.
Both culturally and
linguistically appropriate, LISTOS will provide a foundation for building
disaster resilience in the growing Spanish speaking population in the county.
Engaging in this training are individual residents as well as staff from
Catholic Charities, Department of Emergency Management, Nuestra Comunidad,
Sonoma Valley Community Health Center, and Sonoma County Library.
This is
the first time LISTOS has been presented in the county. Once certified, Trainers
will be developing class offerings throughout the county.
