Tier 2: Foundational
Objective:
The Foundational Tier (aimed at staff without supervisory or managerial responsibility; the majority of County employees) will allow the Individual Contributors to gain additional knowledge and skills to become a productive and engaged County employee in major aspects of daily work, and become better educated in the areas of Racial Equity and Belonging, one of the County’s Racial Equity and Social Justice directives. The Foundational Tier provides a firm foundation for advancement.
NOTE: Tier 2 is available to all County employees.
Summary:
Employees may follow certain "Themes" to particularize their learning and skills. Examples include:

PACE Program for Individual Contributors
STEP 1 - Obtain your manager's approval to participate in the program
STEP 2 - Log into sonoma higher ed, search for "WORKDEV - PACE Certification" and click REGISTER
STEP 3 - Start selecting classes from the certification
STEP 4 - Return to your PACE Certification to register for additional classes & track progress

- Open to all County Employees - especially staff without lead, supervisory or managerial responsibility.
- Successful participants complete the 10 required courses.
- This certificate program is self-directed: enroll in classes as fits your work schedule and with manager approval.
- Participants are encouraged to complete within 18 months; courses are subject to change over time.
- Credit for previous similar but different coursework will not be given.
- In-Person classes at the HR Training Center, Virtual and Web-Based classes through sonoma higher ed.
