Early in-person voting to expand for November election
Beginning Saturday, registered voters in Sonoma County who have not already voted in the Nov. 8 general election, may vote early in person at one of 31 vote centers located throughout the county. In-person voting has been available since Oct. 29 at seven vote centers, and an additional 24 vote centers will open this weekend. Read full story
Sonoma County campus to be illuminated green in support of National Veterans Awareness Week
To honor veterans across the nation, the Sonoma County Administration Center and several other government buildings will be illuminated with green lights from Nov. 7 to Nov. 13 as part of Operation Green Light, a public awareness campaign in observation of National Veterans Awareness Week. Notice of Public Hearing – November 16, 2022
The Sonoma County Community Development Committee and the Cities and Towns Advisory Committee will hold a concurrent public hearing to consider applications submitted for funding for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME), HOME Community Housing Development Organization (HOME-CHDO), CDBG Cares Act (CDBG-CV), and Low and Moderate Income Housing Asset Fund (LMIHAF) for eligible capital projects, affordable housing projects, supportive services, rapid rehousing, homeless support services, fair housing, non-congregate shelter, and economic development activities. The Sonoma County Continuum of Care (CoC) is accepting applications to become a member of the Continuum of Care.
The Sonoma County CoC addresses the problems of housing and homelessness by having a countywide, community-informed, and person-centered CoC system that is compassionate, inclusive, financially responsible, equitable, coordinated, and outcomes-based. Anyone or any entity committed to the prevention and ending of homeless is welcome in the Continuum of Care. There are no meeting requirements, dues, or fees to become a member. Labor Negotiations
The County of Sonoma values all employees as its greatest asset. County employees are represented in 21 bargaining units by 11 labor organizations. All employee organizations are currently under contract and Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) with the employee organizations are current and remain in full force and effect. All of the current MOUs expire between February and July 2023. Read full story
