Sonoma County Supervisors approve $28 million in mental health funding
The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday unanimously approved an updated mental health services support plan for Sonoma County, utilizing more than $28 million in funds provided through Proposition 63, which California voters approved in 2004. Read full story

Reintroducing Sea Otters along the Pacific Coast
U.S. Fish & Wildlife recently determined sea otter reintroduction was feasible in a variety of areas along the Pacific Coast of the United States, including the San Francisco Bay Area, a former habitat range for sea otters. Reintroducing sea otters has a range of benefits from carbon sequestration to ecosystem resilience, and we invite further exploration of the Sonoma County coast as a potential reintroduction site. County seeks public input on services for older adults and adults with disabilities, and caregivers
The Area Agency on Aging invites Sonoma County residents of all ages to offer input on future programs and services for older adults, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers by completing its countywide Senior Needs Assessment Survey by March 15. Read full story

Joe Rodota Trail temporarily closed to relocate homeless camps and remove safety hazards

Sonoma County issues freeze warning
The County of Sonoma is issuing a freeze warning in response to the National Weather Service’s prediction of sub-freezing temperatures overnight tonight and possibly through Sunday morning. Officials recommend that residents limit time outdoors as serious medical conditions including hypothermia and frostbite can develop with prolonged cold weather exposure. Read full story
