Sonoma County proposes rule changes for well permits to protect health of local waterways
In response to evolving California case law that requires local governments to protect the health of rivers and other “public trust resources,” the Board of Supervisors on August 9 will consider new standards for permit applications to drill wells in Sonoma County. Sonoma County launches ‘SoCo Connect’ public reporting and tracking system for non-emergency service requests
The County of Sonoma today announced the launch of SoCo Connect (formerly SoCo Report It), a constituent relationship management system that will offer an improved online service request portal and app for reporting and tracking services in English and Spanish in unincorporated areas of Sonoma County. Vaccination of under-5-year-olds to begin in Sonoma County
With federal and state regulators having now approved the use of COVID-19 vaccines for children ages 6 months to 4 years old, Sonoma County is expected to begin vaccinating the roughly 21,000 children in this age range through primary care providers and health centers beginning this week. Board of Supervisors adopts Fiscal Year 2022-23 budget
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today voted unanimously to adopt the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 budget, including $2.26 billion in total expenditures representing a 7 percent increase from the 2021-22 Adopted Budget, and 4,272 full time employees, a 2.8 percent increase in staffing. Sonoma County’s Climate Action and Resiliency Division and Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District today released the Sonoma County Climate Resilient Lands Strategy, a document designed to provide structure and guidance to climate-related efforts throughout the county, with a focus on natural and working lands. Alongside the full draft strategy, an Overview and Critical Concepts document is also available, which offers a summary of the full strategy alongside key excerpts. Comments can be made on either document. The Overview and Critical Concepts document has also been translated into Spanish. Read full story
